Our last IICRC Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) course of 2019 will run on the 12th & 13th November, lead by Paul Pearce.
The Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) course is designed to teach the skill and science of carpet cleaning to individuals & businesses that want to offer a professional confident service. Emphasis is placed on practical application, identifying fibre, yarn and carpet constructions, dyes, style types and finishes, soiling conditions, cleaning science and methodology. When faced with on-the-job training and field experience, the technician will be adequately prepared to carry out the carpet cleaning techniques and procedures.
The Carpet Cleaning Technician course covers:
- Pre-inspection & fibre identification
- The difference in soil types and the chemistry of removing those soils
- Cleaning procedures as well as carpet construction and proper installation
- The advantages and disadvantages of the five basic types of carpet cleaning will be discussed along with spot removal techniques from any substances, including dye change and latent spots.

For those who are unfamiliar with IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning Restoration & Certification) the IICRC is a certification and standard-setting non-profit organisation for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industries. The IICRC promotes the highest level of training and certification in the industry. As a Certified Technician you will have proof that you are a fully trained operative, and that you are a paid member of a professional body, giving you an advantage over competitors and allowing you to promote yourself as a true professional.
The course is run over 2 days; a total of 14 hours training, not including exam time, lunch and breaks. The exam is optional (although you do have to take it and pass to receive the certification) at a cost of £50.00 paid direct to the IICRC. Upon passing your exam you will receive a Certificate and Technician badge in the post direct from the IICRC (please note this can take up to six weeks.) Every attendee will receive a Certificate of Attendance regardless of whether or not the exam has been taken.
