IICRC Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT)

A comprehensive 2-day carpet care school to increase your knowledge and understanding of different carpets and fibres.

At the end of the 2nd day you can take the course exam to become a certified Carpet Care Technician (CCT). (Undertaking both UFT & CCT courses/exams also qualifies you for NCCA membership application.)

The Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) course is designed to teach the skill and science of carpet cleaning to individuals & businesses that want to offer a professional confident service. Emphasis is placed on practical application, identifying fibre, yarn and carpet constructions, dyes, style types and finishes, soiling conditions, cleaning science and methodology.

When faced with on-the-job training and field experience, the technician will be adequately prepared to carry out the carpet cleaning techniques and procedures. The course is designed to cover pre-inspection, fabric identification, basic cleaning chemicals and equipment, and proper cleaning techniques and procedures with a residential and light commercial emphasis.

The course makes sure you achieve an understanding of fibre types and sources, fibre identification, the difference in soil types and the chemistry of removing those soils. The class also covers pre-inspection, qualifying the job and cleaning procedures as well as carpet construction and proper installation. The advantages and disadvantages of the five basic types of carpet cleaning will be discussed along with spot removal techniques from any substances, including dye change and latent spots.

For those who are unfamiliar with IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning Restoration & Certification): The IICRC is a certification and standard-setting non-profit organisation for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industries. In partnership with regional and international trade associations, the IICRC serves more than 25 countries with offices in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Japan.

The course is run over 2 days; 14 hours, not including exam time, lunch and breaks.

The exam is optional although required to receive the certification at a cost of £50.00 paid to the IICRC – registering before the training school is required. You will be sent a link to the IICRC once your booking has been confirmed

IICRC schools run from 8.30am-5pm and include lunch and refreshments, please advise if you have any dietary requirements, we are happy to cater for your needs.
