Protect Your Customer’s Furniture AND Yourself!
Blue Furniture Blocks are the very best, especially for the heaviest furniture where plastic pads are not sufficient. These 2″ x 2″ x 1″ blocks have the highest compressive strength available and will never crush. This premium block will never leave a mess as it always snaps off cleanly. Whats the difference between Blue and White Blocks?
Why use Foam Blocks? Foam Blocks are made out of polystyrene, a material that is perfect for keeping furniture off wet carpets for the following reasons.
• Resistant to acids, bases and other harsh chemicals
• Doesn’t rust
• Will not corrode, rot or support the growth of mold or mildew (this is critical when leaving something on damp carpet)
• Height and strength permits use under filing cabinets or other furniture where plastic tabs are not ideal
• Very strong
• Inexpensive enough to leave behind at a job.
Also called XPS or Extruded Polystyrene foam, Blue Blocks are composed of closed-cell foam that is fed into an extruder and then placed into a die, where it expands, cools and is then trimmed to dimension. Because of the extrusion process and single-piece construction, Blue Blocks are smoother and more dense than White Blocks. This allows them to snap off without making a mess and support those really heavy couches.
Also called EPS or Expanded Polystyrene foam, White Furniture Blocks also use a closed-cell construction, but differ from Blue Blocks because they use pre-expanded beads. These beads are placed into a mould, fused together and then cooled. Because White Blocks are composed of loosely fused beads, they can ‘crumble’ when broken off and leave small beads on the carpet.
