Two Day Hands-On Rug Cleaning Course

Two Day Training Course

This comprehensive two-day course is designed for all levels of experience — whether you’re new to the industry or an experienced professional looking to expand into rug cleaning. You’ll learn how to identify rug fabrics, fibres and construction, and discover what can be safely cleaned with your existing carpet cleaning equipment as well as other specialist methods.

What you’ll learn:

  • What to look for when inspecting rugs
  • Filling in the inspection form & taking photographs
  • Rug types & construction
  • Soil removal and how to do it
  • Rug dusting & beating
  • Rug cleaning procedures (pressure washer, portable etc)
  • Cleaning techniques (hands-on) & procedures
  • Water extraction with Water Claw & Rug Sucker
  • Spotting
  • Fringe cleaning & correction
  • Special treatments
  • Cleaning challenges
  • Finishing

Hands-on, practical training

This is a fully practical two-day course giving you real hands-on experience with the equipment and techniques used by professional rug cleaners. All levels are welcome — everything you need is provided on the day.

Small groups, maximum learning

Attendance is limited to just 12 trainees per course, ensuring everyone gets genuine hands-on time and plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Please wear work appropriate clothing — everything else is provided.

  • 9:00am – 5:00pm each day
  • Lunch and refreshments included (please advise of any dietary requirements)

    A most helpful and informative Hands on Rug cleaning course. I certainly learnt a great deal regards the correct methods and ways to professionally clean the many types of Oriental rugs. Paul in a superb tutor and instructor, so approachable and a font of knowledge on the background, history and construction of all types of rug.

    I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone interested in the cleaning and maintenance of all types of rug. All the staff at Alltec are so happy and friendly, it’s always a real pleasure to come to Alltec whether for equipment or training.

Schools run from 8.30am-5pm and include lunch and refreshments, please advise if you have any dietary requirements, we are happy to cater for your needs. When faced with on-the-job training and field experience, the technician will be adequately prepared to carry out the carpet cleaning techniques and procedures.
